Chapter XII :)

He lay on the floor, completely wasted. His right hand reach for his whisky and he drank some more.

'What am I doing?' he groaned to himself.

'Is there any point to this? She's already left. Already found some one else.'

'Something doesn't feel right about it. Something's not quite there... but what?' he sighed.

He slept for a while and dreamed.

He was at the basketball court in ss18 playing hard. It was Christmas. His shooting was abysmal as always so he was about to pass the ball. Then he heard a voice say,' Shoot it baby! Shoot it!'.

So he shot the ball and watched it rise high in the sky. Spinning. Then it hit the net to a loud swish sound... the FRONT of the net! He curse then turned to see who had given him the command to shoot. Then he saw her.

Startled he called for a time-out and ran towards her.

'Baby, what are you doing here?' he said trying to hide his glee at seeing her.

'Where else would I be? Its Christmas. A girl's gotta be with her honey on Christmas you know!' she giggled.

He raised his arms to hug her, when she interuppted him abruptly, 'Don't you dare! You're all sweaty and horrible!' she complained.

'Ok. How about a Christmas hand shake then milady?' he asked. She nodded and imperiously gave her hand for him to shake. He took it and kissed her palm, trailing kisses upwards towards her shoulder.

'Honey! There are people here! Behave!' she chided.

'Christmas is all about sharingm. Let them look,' he grinned. Without a second thought he pulled her towards him into a huge hug and kissed her softly on the lips.

'Mmmffhpph... oh you jerk! I'm drenched!' she complained, pushing him away.

He laughed. 'Well... you definitely are now!' he said pouring his water on her.

'You JERK!' she screamed and ran after him waving her hands. He ran away from her for a good ten minutes then decided to let her catch him and face the music. After all this wasn't some Bollywood production.

She smacked him a few good ones and his arms were sore but he found himself laughing at her.

'My hand hurts! You thick skinned elephant!' she groused.

He took her hands and kissed them. 'There all better.' he smiled.

'Not! They still hurt!,' she insisted, tip toeing to kiss him full on the lips.

When the kissed finished, he teased her, 'Behave honey... there are people watching!'

'Oh shut up!' she said walking off in a huff. He grabbed her hand and pulled her close.

'Thanks for coming. Its the best Christmas I've ever had.' he smiled at her.

'It's just the beginning. Come open your present!' she giggled childishly, leading him to her car.

'Oh! Hugs, kisses and a present! I'm starting to LOVE Christmas,' he laughed.

'Here!' she passed him a small box.

'What is it?' he asked shaking the box.

'Something you'll like, I hope!' she replied. 'Open it hun!' she commanded.

He carefullly unwrapped the present taking his time. Then, she got impatient and tore the wrapping apart.

'Hey! I was gonna keep the wrapping!' he grumbled.

'It's just wrapping, look at the present!' she beamed excitedly.

It was a metal pendant. It read Vince on one side and Yu-Chan on the other. There were little hearts inscribed on it as well.

'Its perfect. Just what I wanted.' he hugged her.

'Remember this Vincy... If anything were to happen between us in the next year, hold on to this pendant. It will survive the worst of the weather and last through the hardest of times. Don't ever doubt how much we were in love when you hold this pendant. It's not just a pendant; it is my love oath to you,' she blushed then rested her head on his shoulder.

He opened his eyes.

'Pendant.' he thought.

He reached into his shirt and took out the pendant.

'She was lying! There is no one else. I know it. She was just saying that to push me away so I'd forget her. It must be because of her dad again.' he whispered to himself.

'I can't leave things the way it is,' he reached for his cellphone and called her.

'Hey stranger...' he whispered.

'Vince... I thought I told you things between us were over... why are you still calling?' her voice quavered.

'Over? Over because of a lie? There is NO someone else is there Yuki? You made that all up because your dad disapproves of us being together.'

'I'm sorry.' she whispered; close to tears.

He choked back the angry words that came to mind when he thought about her. Bile rised to his mouth and he wanted to spit badly. 'So you don't care? You're just gonna let your dad decide everything for you?' he asked her angrilly.

'I don't have a choice. I don't want to talk to you anymore. Thanks for ruining my day. Good bye,' she said, putting the phone down.

He slammed his curled up fist into a wall. It throbbed with a piercing sensation that calmed him down a little. 'Damn it! Why did things always have to be so freaking uphill?' he cursed to himself.

'Damn it all. I'm just gonna call the whole thing off. The hell should I care if she had this shitty attitude.

Then he thought about how much she meant to him. And thought about what he could do.
