Dear God. The parents from this chinese school are insane. There are around 5 thousand + students in the school. Each and EVERY single parent insists on appearing at the door step of the school to chauffer their kid home. Thats like 5000+ cars in a small and narrow road. It took me 1.5 hours to get from one end of the road to another.

Do you have any idea how much I could have done in 1.5 hours?
I could have watched a movie.
I could have wrote an article.
I could have written numerous stories.
I could have played pool.
Heck there are so many I could have's I don't even want to continue listing them down.
This school is so popular, and supposedly up market that people are actually buying houses and moving into the area so that their kids can study there. They start tuition at the tender age of 7! SEVEN! Thank god I'm all grown up. I can't imagine going to tuition at the age of seven.
Furthermore, the kids all have crew cuts. The girls have ear length hair more or less and the boys have little hair. This prevents anyone from being jealous of someone else's look or hairdo. It also emasculates any sense of individuality if you ask me. This school doesn't produce good students. It produces GREAT robots!
If wish I had a digital camera. Then I could take a photograph and show ya'll how insane the traffic jam is in the first place. It took like 3 minutes to move half a yard. Thats practically crawling pace. The entire journey from my house to the school is probably less than 500 metres. And it took 1.5 hours! I'm so damn speechless.
Walking home would definately have been faster. I don't understand why they send their precious little tykes to school if they're gonna have to camp outside when the children finish school.
Let them take the BUS for goodness sake. Or heaven forbid.... LET THEM WALK! Oh. My. God. I said it. LET THEM WALK! But but, their kid could get kidnapped, raped and chopped into tiny pieces.
In that case, why not hire personal bodyguards for them. Yes. Each child should have their own body guard. Perhaps even their own radius alarm system. Should anyone inflitrate that radius, the police station should be alerted immediately.
Why stop there? Kids need to protect themselves right? Buy your child fire arms rights. You should be so much more at ease knowing your child is packing metal when he's walking home. If any one tries to screw around with him, the kid can simply just blow him away. Quite literally.
See! So many solutions to the situation, rather than cost poor innocent road users, who get caught in the maelstorm that is after chinese school hours a huge ass traffic jams.
That or parents could send their kids on the school bus or let them walk home. But hell... I think the firearms, personal security and radius alarms are more likely to happen.

5,000 students in one school..wow...that's a lot. Don't knock the short hair and dress code...my son goes to that type of school and the difference is unbelievable..calm, quiet, friendly atmosphere and no attitudes!! ....and more time for study ...muahaha is right, they are naturally smarter!!

The city school where I live, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, had no dress code...the kids were coming in with nasty attitudes...teachers were prepared with the same attitudes and not much got done other than disciplining the kids....because of this my son's grades weren't what they should have been so I put him in a private school.. Call it robots but school is for learning...church is for worship...everything else is for developing any type of non robotic personality you would like.
That's just my opinion and if you don't agree...I can live with that...

Being drilled into memorizing something is not a sign of intelligence.
That's the problem with this school system, very few come out of it with the mindset to actually apply what they learn, in a practical manner in situations which are NOT covered in the textbooks.
So when the formulae doesn't work, what do they do? Sit like fools at their desks not knowing what to do.
THIS is a FACT and it happens everyday in Malaysia and around the world. Employers all over Malaysia have this problem with fresh graduates who join them, and it's widespread enough to come out in the national papers.
A positive teaching environment is a good thing, but churning out a robot who can't function beyond what they've had drilled over and over again into them since school?
That's just plain stupid.
Think out of the box children, you might find that such a system isn't as ideal as you may have hoped for.

About the traffic...Ya i agree with you. Too much parents send and pick the pupils up by car. I think is ridicilous because it not only obstruct traffic but also spoils the environmont. I every day walk to school because its healthier and better(lol). But 2 students was kidnapped and a student was knocked down by a car recently. The best way is students walk home or cycle WITH THEIR PARENTS.

I dun agree with you,(i am from Lick Hung too)Sure,there is a lot of homework and tution etc. But is not that bad as you said and teachers don't toture kids. If they do,you must have done something wrong!!!! And anyway recording a video during school hours( wether it is true or not)is against the school rules

i was in that school and my hair super long. pathetic ass. i didnt even study during upsr and got straight a's that's what lh prepares for us making us smart even now, i didnt study for my tests and i can still get a's and b's and its not only me

totally understand how it is to be stuck in the lick hung rush hour jam. i don't blame it on the parents though, nor the school. It really is due to township planning. do you notice all other schools in subang are next to big open roads, or at least are more accessible from different directions i.e. SMK SS17.
Lick Hung and SK SS19 (which also contributes, though through a smaller part, to the jam) are like stuck in a little corner, with only one access route, and one exit. WHICH also happens to be the only access and exit to certain parts of SS19. For the school's part, at least they have hired guards that do help to alleviate the congestion, provide proper parking for buses, and not allow parents to wait at the gate, at all. For our part, all we could do to help, well, is to avoid that area during peak hours.

OK buddy, let's get this straight. First of all, I understand that it's a traffic mayhem outside the gates of Lick Hung, don't get me wrong, I'm a graduate from there. BUT, there are a few solutions, as parents only take about 1-3 roads, there are plenty different roads you can take. Second, asking kids to walk back to school with bodygaurds and other crap like that is stupid.
You think bodygaurds are cheap? And do you think bodygaurds will walk home with the kids? What if the kid stays at USJ 4 or some other place? Get a brain, get a good reason and lastly, get a good soulution before posting crappy things like this. You know what, I can happily give you a few solutions: 1) Use another road. 2)Tell other kids to sit vans and other stuff. 3) Let them walk home IF their house is near.
And, kids at Lick Hung AREN'T zombified or a robot. Proof, I see lots of kids inside school compound happy and laughing and playing. Would a robot do this? Seriously, get some proof before posting or do even the tiniest bit of research.

I am a parent and am thinking of sending my school to Lick Huang. I am not concerned about the hard work or long hours. In fact, I think hard work and discipline is good for children. But am concerned if they are "trained" to just follow and NOT to think for themselves....Still thinking where to send my son ;)

It is truly failure in education to raise "smart" and "not retarted" adults like you who use aggressive words and negative statement in entire blog. Especially response to children. It's not about the school that you should attack verbally, it is not even the children and parents. Well, if they are richer than you as they have time to wait for their children, it's their choice. The fact is the government did not plan well in township design.
Furthersmore, it's standard problems all schools and offices faced the problems you had with traffic in year 2005 to now.
